Benefits of the application
This property is unique and can eliminate the use of pre-attachment tapes. Therefore, it is able to increase productivity, can save time and labor cost. Instant green power
is approximately 5 times higher than any other standard sealant that typically allows freshly glued window units to move (illustration below)
Durability and Storage
When stored at +30°C or below in original unopened containers, DOWSIL™ 776 Instantfix WB has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture.
How to use
DOWSIL™ 776 Instantfix WB is a ready-to-use silicone sealant. It provides excellent strength and adheres to a wide range of the most common window materials such as PVC, coated wood, metal and glass.
For bonding, the depth of the joint should generally not be deeper than 10mm to
achieve reasonable curing times. However, the final joint depth must not exceed 14-15 mm.
Substrate preparation
Substrates must be clean prior to application to ensure durability of adhesion. DOWSIL™ R-40 Cleaner is recommended for cleaning. Ventilation time at room temperature should be at least 1 minute.
If adhesion requires priming, a primer such as DOWSIL™ 1200 or 1203 is OS Primer should be used. During priming, ventilation time in the room
the temperature should be at least 1 minute. Priming should be done within 4 hours after cleaning.
Safeguard
Areas adjacent to joints can be masked to ensure a clean line of sealant. Do not allow the tape to touch clean surfaces where the silicone sealant is to adhere.
