Chemours Krytox™ AUT Series is a line of products designed to meet the automotive industry’s need for lubricants that combine efficiency and performance at both low and high temperatures. While all grades in the Krytox™ AUT Series are based on an ISO 100 grade perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oil, each AUT grade is formulated with unique additives to provide flexible corrosion protection options for automotive equipment and heavy-duty parts such as fan clutch bearings, alternators and belt bearings.

Designed to fill the gap between Krytox™ GPL 224 and Krytox™ GPL 225 greases – offering low-temperature start-up performance while maintaining effectiveness at higher operating temperatures – the Krytox™ AUT series of greases can extend the life of critical components, allowing automakers to extend warranties and improve performance by reducing component failures.

Formulated to fill the gap between Krytox™ GPL 104 and Krytox™ GPL 105, Krytox™ AUT 1045 can also extend the life of critical components.

The Krytox™ range of oils and greases has a solution for every challenge. Depending on your application performance needs, you can choose a Krytox™ grease that will provide both low and high temperatures, prevent wear and corrosion, reduce noise and vibration, and resist washout from weather and automotive fluids.

Krytox™ greases are ideal for use in automotive applications because:

• They do not contain intentionally added volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or chlorine

High performance standards require high performance lubricants.

• Krytox™ AUT 2045 is a white PFPE grease. PFPE greases are characterized by excellent product durability and unmatched performance. AUT 2045, like most Krytox™ greases, combines a base oil with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) powder as a thickener. The use of PFPE as a base oil provides excellent chemical and thermal stability to all Krytox™ lubricant product lines.
• Krytox™ AUT 2245 grease addresses a wide range of applications from O-ring lubrication to bearings in a wide temperature range where corrosion may be a concern. It is thickened with PTFE and contains sodium nitrite, a traditional anti-corrosion additive.
• Krytox™ AUT 2A45 grease is formulated with soluble additives that exhibit excellent resistance to water washout, repel moisture and provide additional corrosion protection to metal parts and bearing surfaces. Without solid additives, bearings run quieter and wear less - extending the life of bearings and components.
• Krytox™ AUT 2E45 Grease is a nitrite-free lubricant that is formulated with rust-preventive additives that are effective at low concentrations and environmentally friendly, and do not impose any restrictions on the long-term recyclability of the grease.

All classes of lubricants in the AUT series are based on Krytox™ AUT 1045 oil,

which is an ISO 100 PFPE oil. Krytox™ AUT 1045 should be considered for any automotive application requiring an oil, from bearings and small plastic gearboxes to NVH solutions.
