Greases for plain bearings, bushings and bushings
Proper knowledge of how plain bearings work is essential to determining the right lubricant for longer bearing life. Depending on the conditions, the right lubricant may be grease, oil, or even a paste or anti-friction coating.
Load, environment, temperature and speed all play key roles in lubricant selection. Sometimes a low-viscosity oil that resists only rust and oxidation may be the best lubricant, while other conditions may dictate a heavily fortified grease. Other conditions may justify a completely different grease. In some cases, a combination of grease types may provide the best performance.
