HYLOMAR® M Liquid seal
Flexible sealing mass based on polyurethane. Long-lasting plastic, technically advanced sealant.
Used as a gasket for: water and oil pumps, inspection flaps and covers, cylinder heads, oil pans, pre-seal for permanent gasket, weather-resistant sealing of engine and intake manifolds, timing case cover, connections in oil pumps, gearbox components, thread sealing.
Vulcanizes to a soft rubber. Once vulcanized, it is resistant to most fluids including all industrial fuels, oil, water and brine, air, piston and turbine engine combustion products, water/glycol and methanol mixtures, crude oil and some synthetic lubricants, fuels, kerosene and coolants.
Hylomar is stable at temperatures from -50 °C to +250 °C and can be used in this range to seal surfaces and threads. The product does not react chemically with metals or plastics. It has low electrical conductivity, poor thermal conductivity. It is characterized by excellent adhesion.
The reliability and tightness of the seal is guaranteed by the unique chemical, mechanical and thermal resistance of the HYLOMAR binder.
Application
HYLOMAR M is a universal agent used for particularly demanding and critical seals, exposed to, among others, contact with petrol, kerosene or lubricants. It is suitable for effective sealing of metal with metal and plastic with plastic.
- wheeled vehicle engines (e.g. cylinder heads and oil pans)
- sealing engines and intake manifolds against weather conditions
- water and oil pumps
- turbines
- electrical machines, power plants, high voltage switches, including those located outdoors
- water cooled generators and vacuum systems
- food industry machines
- mining machines
- chemical and petrochemical installations
- gas and water boiler rooms
- gluing and sealing housings, covers and threads
- liquid seals resistant to high temperatures
- flexible sealing for metals
- liquid cold store gasket

- Prevents atmospheric corrosion
- Economical in use
Types of Hylomar
Hylomar L (Light grade): intake manifolds, timing case covers, oil pump connectors, gearbox and transmission components, thread sealing and any perfectly finished surface (smooth)
Hylomar M (Medium grade): water and oil pumps, inspection covers, cylinder heads, oil pans, various machined mechanical parts
Hylomar H (Heavy grade): gas turbines, water-cooled generators, turbo vacuum systems, gearboxes and more rough finished surfaces
Technical data Hylomar M
HYLOMAR | M (Medium grade) |

Solvent content | 0.42 |
Relative density (gml-1) | 1.035 gml-1 |
How to use:
The surfaces to be sealed should be clean, dry and degreased. Apply a thin and even layer of the agent to both surfaces to be sealed. Wait about 10 minutes for the solvent to evaporate, then connect and screw. After a few minutes, tighten the screws again. When sealing flat, polished surfaces, it is enough to apply the agent to one of the surfaces. Hylomar is a long-term plastic agent, so after its application there is no need to rush when assembling the components.
When dismantling components, Hylomar M can be removed with Hylomar Hylo Clean or a cloth soaked in acetone. It is not necessary to scrape it off.
