Product overview

MOLYKOTE® D-7409-NEP EC Anti-Friction Coating is a premium quality, thermally curing dry lubricant with high load capacity due to its unique resin selection. MOLYKOTE® D-7409-NEP EC AFC contains an organic solvent with a high evaporation rate and solid particles of graphite and molybdenum disulfide (MOS2) that provide high resistance to wear, extreme temperatures and the presence of solvents.

Usage

Surface preparation

Carefully clean and degrease the surface to be covered with the Anti-Slip Coating.

Recommended pre-treatments: phosphating or sandblasting (180 grit); both pre-treatments enhance the durability and life of the Coating.

How to apply

Stir the Anti-Corrosion Coating thoroughly before and during use, apply by spraying (3 to 5 bar [45 to 75 psi] air pressure), dipping, spinning or brushing. The surfaces should be covered as evenly as possible.

Recommended dry film thickness: 3 to 20 μm.

The product applied in this way should be cured at a temperature of 150-220°C.

Coverage

When applied to a 10 μm dry film, the thickness of Molykote ® D-7409 Anti-friction Coating has an average coverage of 16 m2 / kg (this value does not take into account the losses generated during the application process).

Thinning

The recommended thinner is Molykote® 7415.

Hardening

Typical curing conditions are: 30 minutes at 220°C
