Shell Tellus S2 MX is a high performance hydraulic oil based on Group II base oils. As a result, it provides excellent protection and performance for devices in industrial and mobile applications. It is characterized by high thermal and mechanical resistance, which prevents the formation of deposits that can reduce the efficiency of hydraulic systems.

  Shell Tellus S2 MX offers significant drain intervals due to its high resistance to thermal and chemical degradation. This minimizes the formation of deposits and sludge, ensuring the reliability of hydraulic systems. Shell Tellus S2 MX exhibits very good stability in the presence of water, thanks to which it provides a long service life and prevents corrosion and rusting of system components operating in highly humid environments.
• Outstanding wear protection
  Shell Tellus S2 MX meets the demanding requirements of modern hydraulic systems, including the new Bosch Rexroth Fluid Rating RDE 90245 specification and improved anti-wear performance in the FZG test (FLS 11 at ISO 32 viscosity). In addition, the use of Tellus S2 MX oil extends component life, as evidenced by the excellent results obtained in tests with Eaton Vickers 35VQ25 and Denison T6H20C pumps (dry and wet).
• Efficient operation of systems
  Excellent filterability, very good water separation, air release and high resistance to foam ensure that the efficiency of hydraulic systems is maintained or improved. Optimized friction characteristics reduce the occurrence of harmful stick-slip vibrations. Cleanliness of 20/18/15 or higher according to ISO 4406 (at the time of filling), reduces the possibility of contamination and blocking of filters, allowing for extended filter change intervals and enhanced device protection. Shell Tellus S2 MX is formulated to provide excellent foam control and rapid air release, facilitating efficient power transfer and substantially eliminating cavitation, which increases oil oxidation reducing oil life.

Compatibility and mixability

Shell Tellus S2 MX can be used in most pumps
hydraulic.

• Compatibility with oils
  Shell Tellus S2 MX is compatible with most mineral based hydraulic fluids. However, hydraulic oils of different grades should not be mixed (e.g. biodegradable oils, flame retardant oils).
• Compatibility with seals and paints
  Shell Tellus S2 MX is compatible with paints and sealants designed for use with mineral oil.

Work safety and environmental protection

Shell Tellus S2 MX does not pose a direct health risk when properly used for its intended purpose and with personal and industrial hygiene. Avoid skin contact. Use protective gloves. In case of skin contact, wash off the oil with soap and water.
