Evil RATCHET SKIN

Dry lubricating coating for ratchet and pawl systems

RatchetSkin is an advanced dry lubricating coating designed for maximum performance and uncompromising sound in ratchet and pawl systems. It creates an ultra-thin, resistant protective layer that minimizes friction and wear of contact elements — without dampening the characteristic hub click.

Unlike traditional lubricants, RatchetSkin does not suppress the mechanism's operation; on the contrary, it brings out its full loudness, often exceeding the factory level. It's the ideal solution for cyclists who want to get rid of greasy residues from factory lubricants and restore an aggressive, mechanical character of operation.

Why RatchetSkin?

  • ? Louder than factory – eliminates the dampening effect caused by grease used as standard in hubs
  • ⚙️ Dry, precise layer – no dust attraction, cleanliness, and aesthetics of the mechanism
  • ?️ Durable metal protection – effectively protects teeth, pawls, and friction surfaces
  • ? Minimal resistance to movement – instantaneous mechanism response, noticeably faster wheel rotation
  • ? Resistance to high loads and temperatures – works where other lubricants fail
  • ? Stable and fast-drying formula – ideal for servicing and tuning

How to use:

  1. Thoroughly clean the pawls and mechanism from old grease residue (e.g., using isopropyl alcohol).
  2. Mix the coating very thoroughly by stirring and shaking.
  3. Dip the pawls in RatchetSkin (or apply the coating with a brush/airbrush).
  4. Remove and allow to dry for at least 2 hours – preferably in a dry, warm place, away from dust.
  5. Once dry, the coating is ready for use – no additional lubrication needed.

Application:

  • Ratchet systems (e.g., DT Swiss, Bontrager, etc.)
  • Classic pawl mechanisms
  • Ideal for servicing, modifications, and tuning

For whom?

For those who want a faster, louder, and better-protected drivetrain – without grease, without compromise, without silence.
