      Shell Tellus S2 VX offers significantly extended drain intervals due to its high resistance to thermal and chemical degradation. This minimises the formation of deposits and sludge, ensuring reliable and cleaner hydraulic systems. Shell Tellus S2 VX has very good stability in the presence of water, ensuring long drain intervals.

      Excellent filterability, very good water separation, air release and high foam resistance ensure hydraulic system efficiency is maintained or improved. Optimised friction characteristics reduce the occurrence of harmful stick-slip. Cleanliness of 20/18/15 or better according to ISO 4406 (at the point of fill) reduces the possibility of filter contamination and blocking, allowing extended filter change intervals and enhanced equipment protection. Shell Tellus S2 VX is formulated to provide excellent foam control and rapid air release, facilitating efficient power transfer and significantly reducing cavitation, which increases oil oxidation and reduces oil life.

    Compatibility and Miscibility

    • Compatibility
      Shell Tellus S2 VX can be used in most hydraulic pumps.
    • Compatibility with oils
      Shell Tellus S2 VX is compatible with most mineral hydraulic oils. However, hydraulic oils of different grades should not be mixed (e.g. biodegradable oils, fire-resistant oils).
    • Compatibility with sealants and paints
      Shell Tellus S2 VX is compatible with paints and sealants designed for use with mineral oil.


    Occupational safety and environmental protection

    Shell Tellus S2 VX does not pose a direct health hazard when used correctly for its intended purpose and in accordance with personal and industrial hygiene. Avoid contact with skin. Use protective gloves. In case of contact with skin, wash off oil with soap and water.
