Shell Omala S2 GX is a high-performance EP anti-seize gear oil designed for use in heavy-duty industrial gears. Excellent load-carrying properties, micropitting protection and seal compatibility ensure excellent performance in enclosed gears.

Application:

• Closed Industrial Gear Systems
  The technology used in Omala S2 GX oils provides effective anti-seize protection. The oil is designed for use in closed industrial gears: toothed, helical and planetary, including highly loaded systems lubricated by circulation or by means of an invented oil circuit. Omala S2 GX oils can also be used in systems lubricated by splash or circulation with bearings, in which there is direct contact of metal elements, and they are not equipped with gears.
• Other uses
  Shell offers a wide range of products for other specific gear applications
• When the use of synthetic oils is recommended, or very long change intervals are required, or large temperature fluctuations occur, we recommend the use of Omala S4 GXV oil.
• Shell Omala S5 Wind 320 oil is recommended for wind turbine gearbox drives.
• It is recommended to use oils for worm gears.
  Shell Omala S4 WE, Shell Morlina S4 B or Shell Omala S1 W.
• For vehicle transmissions, Shell Spirax products should be used.
• For systems fitted with a gear unit or other applications where filters below 10 microns are used, please consult your local Shell Technical Advisor before using Shell Omala S2 GX.

  Shell Omala S2 GX provides high thermal and chemical resistance throughout the recommended drain interval. The product resists high temperatures and deposit formation providing extended oil life, even at oil temperatures reaching 1000 ° C in some applications.

  Shell Omala S2 GX provides excellent load carrying capacity and protection against micropitting ensuring long equipment life.
• Maintaining gear system efficiency through optimized water separation and reduced corrosion and foaming
  Shell Omala S2 GX fluids exhibit excellent water separation properties, corrosion protection and low foaming tendency. Water reduces the resistance of bearing and gear surfaces to fatigue damage and also causes corrosion on internal surfaces. Corrosion protection is maintained even in the presence of contamination by seawater and solids.
  Reduced risk of foaming, which often occurs in applications where the oil has a very short reservoir residence time. Excellent shear stability ensures that viscosity is maintained throughout the drain interval. Compatibility with commonly used seals and protective coatings further enhances equipment efficiency and helps prevent leaks. Shell Omala S2 GX is compatible with most paints.

The product does not pose a direct health hazard when used correctly for its intended purpose and in accordance with personal and industrial hygiene. Avoid contact with skin. Use protective gloves. In case of contact with skin, wash the oil with soap and water.
